Meet Chris Urato

Founder of Urato Landscaping

Chris Urato’s passion for landscaping started early — out in the yard with his dad, learning how to cut grass and trim edges with care. By middle school, he was already running a small route around Goshen with a push mower in the trunk of his mom’s car. Before he even had a driver’s license, he was managing 10 to 15 local lawns.

By the time Chris hit high school, that number had grown to over 40 properties, along with tree jobs, brush clearing, and mulch installs — taking on whatever work he could find. During college at SUNY Oswego, he debated between taking a corporate path or sticking with the hands-on work he loved.

After graduating, Chris returned home and spent time working with Tommy Tree — one of Orange County’s best tree service companies — where he gained deeper skills in tree removal and outdoor service operations. That experience cemented his decision. In October, shortly after graduation, he put a plow on his truck and officially launched Urato Landscaping.

Today, Chris leads Urato with the same work ethic and drive that started it all — focused on delivering high-quality, dependable service to commercial and residential clients across the Hudson Valley.
